After the coronavirus lockdowns, Raphael studied with Michael Trimble at the Trimble Vocal Institute in Washington and with celebrated international dramatic tenor Yonghoon Lee.

Raphael was a finalist in the largest vocal competition in Australia in 2022, the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship and a semi-finalist in the 2022 Premio Fausto Ricci international vocal competition in Viterbo, Italia. Raphael was invited to Germany to participate in the International Singer Academy Michaelstein where he worked with Professor Claudia Visca of the Richard Wagner Conservatorium in Vienna. He is continuing his studies with Professor Visca in Vienna.

Raphael is presently engaged to perform the role of Canio in Pagliacci with the Sydney Cooperative Opera company in their 2023 season.
Raphael’s oratorio and song repertoire includes large scale works for voice and orchestra including Bach's Easter Oratorio, Fauré’s Requiem, Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in Sydney Town Hall, the Chatswood Concourse and other prestigious venues in Sydney and Canberra, Australia. Raphael has also performed many piano-voice song cycles including Schumann’s much loved Dichterliebe and Butterworth’s A Shropshire Lad.
